Tax Manager

We’re seeking a Tax Manager to join a growing firm serving high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. This is a hands-on seat for someone who likes owning client work end-to-end (compliance and planning) and who cares about getting the details right. Ideal for a strong public accounting generalist who wants real ownership and responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a book of private client tax engagements across compliance and planning
- Review and prepare complex individual and fiduciary returns
- Advise closely held business owners on year-round tax strategy and execution
- Coordinate directly with clients to gather info, set timelines, and drive deliverables
- Lead day-to-day engagement workflow and ensure technical accuracy and clean workpapers
- Partner with internal leadership to improve processes and raise the bar on quality
- Support and mentor junior staff (review, guidance, and technical development)
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong technical foundation in 1040 and 1041 compliance + planning
- Experience advising closely held businesses and owner-operators
- High attention to detail; produces tight, review-ready work
- CPA preferred
Salary: $150K/yr – $180K/yr + Stock options
