A well-established public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Senior to join its growing tax practice. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients, solving complex tax matters, and mentoring team members in a collaborative and supportive environment.
As a Tax Senior, you’ll work with a diverse portfolio of individuals, privately held businesses, and closely held entities, helping clients navigate tax compliance while identifying opportunities for planning and long-term success. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates, including applicable state and local filings.
- Research tax laws, regulations, and technical issues to support compliance and identify planning opportunities.
- Collaborate with managers and partners to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality tax services.
- Develop strong client relationships by providing responsive communication and practical tax guidance.
- Assist clients with tax planning, estimated tax payments, and year-round tax consulting.
- Respond to tax notices and assist with audits and other inquiries from taxing authorities.
- Review work prepared by associates, providing guidance and constructive feedback to support their professional growth.
- Manage multiple engagements while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and apply them to client engagements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
- CPA license or active progress toward obtaining CPA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and professional tax software.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 (DOE)
