An established public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Director to oversee sophisticated client engagements, provide strategic tax guidance, and help lead a collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional service and long-term client success.

Your Role:

• Provide strategic oversight for complex tax planning, consulting, and compliance engagements.
• Review complex tax work and provide technical guidance to engagement teams.
• Build long-term client relationships by delivering proactive advice and practical solutions.
• Research emerging tax legislation and translate complex developments into meaningful client recommendations.
• Mentor managers and senior professionals while supporting their technical and leadership development.
• Oversee engagement planning, staffing, workflow, and quality control across multiple client engagements.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and support business development initiatives.
• Partner with firm leadership to improve processes, enhance service delivery, and support the continued growth of the tax practice.
• Promote a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and professional excellence.

Qualifications:

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field; MST, JD, or LL.M. preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
• Demonstrated success managing complex tax engagements and leading client relationships.
• Strong technical knowledge of business and individual taxation.
• Proven experience in mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
• Strategic mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 (DOE)
