Tax Administrator

A growing CPA firm is hiring a Tax Operations Admin to own the day-to-day operational side of the tax practice and keep client service, deadlines, workflow, and internal processes moving smoothly. This role is a strong fit for someone who has worked in a CPA firm or professional services environment, understands the pace of tax season, and wants to grow into a broader leadership role within firm operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage firm calendars, client meetings, internal deadlines, and tax workflow from document intake through e-filing and delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, reminders, onboarding, offboarding, and general service needs.
- Prepare extensions, vouchers, letters, engagement letters, tax organizers, newsletters, and other paraprofessional tax support items.
- Invoice clients, manage accounts receivable, and track annual reports, sales tax filings, city licenses, renewals, and dissolutions.
- Supervise administrative support and coordinate day-to-day workflow needs with tax and operations leadership.
- Identify process improvements and help implement systems, automation tools, and workflow updates as the firm grows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a CPA firm, professional services firm, or similar operations-focused role preferred.
- Experience with Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, TaxDome, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tax workflow/e-file systems strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Professional, client-facing communication skills and the ability to stay calm during high-volume periods.
- Comfortable learning new technology and improving workflows as the firm grows.
Salary: $75K/yr – $115K/yr
