An established public accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Family Office/High-Net-Worth Tax Manager to join its Private Client practice. This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional who is passionate about building long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families while delivering thoughtful tax planning, consulting, and advisory services.

In this role, you’ll go beyond traditional tax compliance by serving as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex financial decisions, preserve wealth, and develop tax strategies that support their personal, family, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tax planning, consulting, and compliance engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, partnerships, and closely held businesses.
  • Review complex tax returns while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Advise clients on wealth preservation strategies, estate and gift tax planning, charitable giving, business succession, and multi-generational wealth transfer.
  • Collaborate with clients and their professional advisors to develop integrated tax strategies that align with long-term financial goals.
  • Research complex tax matters and communicate technical concepts in a practical, client-friendly manner.
  • Oversee multiple engagements while maintaining exceptional client service and project management.
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals by providing technical guidance and leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client relationships through additional planning and advisory services.
  • Stay current on tax legislation and emerging developments affecting high-net-worth individuals and family office clients.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field; MST preferred.
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience with significant exposure to high-net-worth individuals, family office clients, or private client services.
  • Strong experience with trusts, estates, partnerships, and pass-through entities.
  • Knowledge of estate and gift taxation, wealth transfer planning, and fiduciary taxation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and mentor team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 (DOE)
