Tax Manager

A growing professional advisory firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax engagements and support a portfolio of automotive dealership clients, along with businesses across other industries, including construction, manufacturing, and distribution.
This role is ideal for a motivated and entrepreneurial tax professional who enjoys building client relationships, mentoring staff, and working directly with business owners in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax engagements for automotive dealership and closely held business clients
- Review federal, state, and multi-state individual and business tax returns
- Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor
- Mentor, train, and develop team members
- Support practice development through conferences, networking, and industry events
- Identify opportunities for additional advisory and tax services
- Travel occasionally to automotive industry conferences across the U.S.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience preparing and reviewing corporate and individual tax returns
- Active CPA or EA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong project management and client communication skills
- High attention to detail and professionalism
- Experience leading teams and managing client engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and Knowledge Coach
- Familiarity with the automotive retail industry
Work Setup
- Fully Remote
- Occasional travel required for industry conferences and client-related events
Compensation
Salary range: $140,000 – $185,000 annually
