Tax Senior 

Our client is seeking a Tax Senior to join their Private Equity Firm’s tax team, focusing on tax compliance, planning, and reporting for their specific funds and associated entities. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or within a private equity firm, with a strong understanding of tax regulations affecting private equity funds, partnerships, and investors. This role will involve managing the tax compliance lifecycle, assisting in tax planning strategies, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all fund-related tax filings.

Responsibilities:

  • Fund Tax Compliance: Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for private equity funds, partnerships, and related entities; Ensure all fund-level and investor-level tax reporting requirements are met, including K-1s, 1065s, and other filings; Assist in the management and coordination of tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities.
  • Tax Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with the tax team to develop and implement tax planning strategies that optimize the tax position of the fund and its investors; Research and interpret tax laws to provide guidance on complex tax issues affecting the private equity fund, including structuring of investments and acquisitions; Work closely with fund managers and other departments to advise on tax-efficient structuring of transactions.
  • Investor Relations & Reporting: Manage the delivery of tax-related communications to investors, including preparation and distribution of Schedule K-1s and other required tax documents; Assist in responding to tax-related inquiries from investors and addressing concerns related to their tax reporting and liabilities.
  • Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure compliance with changing tax regulations and identify opportunities to streamline tax processes; Develop and maintain tax workpapers and schedules to support tax filings and audits; Work with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax reports.

Requirements:

  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or a private equity firm, with a focus on tax compliance for private equity funds, partnerships, or investment funds; Strong experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships and private equity structures.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations affecting private equity funds, partnerships, and investors; Familiarity with tax preparation and reporting software; Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other related tools for tax calculations and reporting.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders and external advisors; Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $100,000 to $135,000 + Bonus

The Family Office Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records for the family office, including handling day-to-day accounting functions, bill payment, reconciliations, financial reporting, and coordinating with external service providers. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, experience in bookkeeping for high-net-worth individuals or family offices, and a meticulous eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, bill payments, and deposits in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of all bank and investment accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and report on personal and business-related expenses, ensuring correct categorization and allocation of funds.
  • Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll and managing related tax filings and compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with key vendors, ensure timely payment of bills, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all financial records are properly filed and compliant with relevant regulations, including maintaining records for audits.
  • Special Projects: Assist with ad hoc financial projects, as requested by family members or office leadership.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality concerning family and financial information.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a family office, business management or CPA firm.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with accuracy.
  • Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with family members, staff, and external advisors.

Our client is seeking an experienced Family Office Accounting Manager to join their team in West Los Angeles. This role is essential in managing the accounting and tax needs of high-net-worth individuals, families, and their related entities. The position involves a mix of accounting (75%) and tax-related responsibilities (25%), offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and clients to manage and optimize their financial operations.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in a family office, public accounting firm, or business management environment, with a strong focus on accounting and familiarity with tax compliance and planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting (75%): 
    • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and entities, including bill pay, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, cash flow reports, and account reconciliations.
    • Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and investment tracking.
    • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals to ensure accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor investment portfolios, real estate holdings, and other assets, providing detailed financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Tax (25%): 
    • Assist in the preparation and review of tax filings for individuals, trusts, and business entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    • Work with external tax advisors to provide support for tax planning strategies and ensure tax optimization for family office clients.
    • Prepare and review tax workpapers and documents for annual tax filings, including 1099s and K-1s.
    • Respond to tax-related inquiries from clients and external advisors.
  • Client Management & Reporting: 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their accounting and tax matters, providing timely and accurate financial insights.
    • Provide support for estate planning, philanthropy, and investment initiatives as needed.
    • Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting for clients, including personal and business finances.
  • Compliance & Process Improvement: 
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and tax laws.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices for family office operations.
    • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive financial and personal information.

Requirements:

  • Education & Certification:

  • Experience:

Salary: $175, 000 – $225, 000
