Tax Senior 

As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing and delivering tax planning, preparation, and advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate has strong technical tax skills, a solid understanding of the needs of wealthy individuals and families, and at least 3 years of public accounting experience. This remote opportunity extends to US Candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Tax Preparation & Review: Prepare and review complex tax returns for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, including trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
  • Tax Planning: Provide tax planning services and identify strategies for minimizing tax liabilities for clients with significant wealth.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with trusted advice and personalized tax services.
  • Compliance & Advisory: Ensure clients’ compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while offering proactive advisory services.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with partners and other team members to manage client engagements and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct tax research on complex tax issues affecting high-net-worth individuals and provide guidance to clients and the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on tax law changes and industry trends, identifying opportunities to improve processes and client services.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in public accounting, with a focus on tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with tax preparation software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Client Focused: Strong client service skills with experience managing relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex tax issues.
  • Remote Work: Experience working in a remote environment, with strong time management and self-discipline skills.

Salary: $120,000 + bonus

The Remote Tax Manager will oversee and manage a portfolio of tax clients, with a focus on S-Corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate will have extensive tax experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead tax engagements remotely. This role requires a collaborative mindset and a dedication to providing exceptional service to clients while managing multiple tax projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Tax Preparation & Review: Manage and review complex tax returns for S-Corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal tax laws.
  • Tax Planning: Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and minimizing liabilities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong, trusted relationships and addressing any tax-related inquiries.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage junior staff and tax associates, providing guidance and reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Research & Compliance: Stay up to date on tax legislation changes, ensuring clients remain compliant with tax laws and regulations while identifying planning opportunities.
  • Tax Projections & Advisory: Prepare tax projections and provide advisory services to help clients understand their tax position and potential liabilities.
  • IRS & State Representation: Represent clients in audits, tax notices, and inquiries from the IRS and state tax agencies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency improvements in the tax preparation and filing processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or EA certification required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of tax experience, with a focus on S-Corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem, UltraTax) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Client-Focused: Strong client relationship management skills, with a focus on providing high-level tax advisory services.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in mentoring and managing tax teams in a remote environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex tax issues.
  • Remote Work: Experience working in a remote environment with strong time management and self-discipline skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze both business and personal general ledgers, reconciling accounts, recording journal entries, and generating financial statements with a keen attention to accuracy and deadlines
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly and on time
  • Conduct monthly and annual bank and credit card entries and reconciliations. Manage manual payroll processing, maintaining salaries, benefits, deductions, taxes, and liability payments
  • Handle quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns, including W2/W3 filings. Manage Form 1099’s, sales and use tax returns/prepayments with CDTFA, and property tax 571 L reporting
  • Open, renew, and close accounts for city business licenses and business property statements
  • Complete census reporting and workmen’s compensation premium calculations
  • Provide exceptional client service by managing multiple client accounts and workflows, ensuring timely filing, reporting, and adherence to deadlines while maintaining high quality service to enhance the overall client experience
  • Contribute to staff training and development by providing one-on-one feedback and fostering a culture of efficiency and collaboration
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and workflows, introducing improvements to enhance productivity and accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a CPA firm
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • A minimum of 2 years of business management experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of real estate/ property management experience
  • A minimum 2 years of manual payroll processing experience
  • Familiarity with payroll audit processes
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
  • Proficiency in AppFolio
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated ability to use advanced features for financial analysis
  • Proven ability to independently manage time, prioritize tasks, and communicate with management as needed
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships and provide exceptional service
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to strong business ethics and conduct
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to guide others in achieving operational goals
