Tax Manager – Regional CPA Firm

Tax Manager

Our client is a regional CPA firm with an office in Westwood and Woodland Hills seeking a Tax Manager to join their culture-centric team. The Tax Manager will primarily focus on corporate tax and serve a diverse range of industries.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complex tax returns and perform tax research
  • Respond to tax notices from taxing authorities
  • Review tax information supplied by the client and will meet with and/or contact the client regarding general or complex tax questions
  • Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues and make recommendations
  • Adapt to the company’s practices, policies, and culture
Requirements:
  • 5-8 years of prior experience working in a public CPA firm
  • CPA certified required
  • Strong organization, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Diligent work ethic and dedication to providing superior client service
  • Possess integrity, be trustworthy, dependable, and a team player with a cooperative attitude
  • Excellent communication skills – oral, written and interpersonal with the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner to upper-level team members and clients
  • Strong client engagement skills
  • Must be proficient in corporate, partnership, and individual tax planning and compliance
  • Ability to prepare interim and annual financial statements, including adjusting journal entries
  • Experience in managing multiple client engagements at the same time
  • Prior basic supervisory experience is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is required

Salary: $110,000 – $155,000

Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for an Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Accounting Manager with experience in real estate to join their 10 person team in West LA!

The ability to perform the necessary tasks is more important to the firm than the title of the candidate.

This is a hybrid opportunity (work from home 2x a month after the first 3 – 6 months on the job).

Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with: corporate accounting, property level accounting, investor distributions, and personal accounting for principal (schedule of real estate, assisting with some personal investments)
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Yardi Systems
  • Experience in real estate

Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly billing alongside the Office Managing Partner.
  • Collections and account receivable.
  • Manage office-related budgets for charitable contributions, sponsorships, and office events.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completed coursework from an accredited college/university is highly preferred.
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems, ask questions for clarification, and understand when to escalate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (especially Excel), web-based research skills, and ability to learn firm-wide applications and technology packages.
